Meet the Residents: Addison Hamrick

unnamedCenterpoint is happy to host four Generation LINK residents who will spend this year with us learning, serving and growing together. Each month we will highlight one of them for you to get to know a little better.

This month we hear from Addison Hamrick, who joined us from Anderson University.

Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Addison program and I grew up in Lexington, South Carolina. I am a recent graduate of Anderson University with a degree in Kinesiology.

How and why did you get connected to the residency program?

I heard about the program through my home church, Renewal Church of Anderson. They have hosted the Generation LINK program in Anderson for the past couple of years and I was able to see first hand what the residents experienced. I decided to join the program because I felt that it would help me discover what my spiritual gifts were and best prepare me for future ministry.

How will you be serving this year?

Each month I lead a different ministry area at Centerpoint. In September, I assisted with connecting visitors to the church and getting them plugged in. Last month I served as Volunteer Coordinator and this month I will be helping with Centerpoint Kids. In addition to these roles, I spend a lot of time connecting with college students and serving with the Loving America Street ministry on the Eastside.

What are you hoping to learn this year?

I hope to learn where within the church I am best gifted to serve in. In addition, I hope to learn ins and outs of how the local church functions.

How can we pray for you?

I am new to the area, so please pray that I can find friends and connect with others. Also, I am taking a full load of seminary classes, so please pray that I steward my time well and absorb as much as possible. Lastly, please pray that I am able to raise more financial support.
